Butterfly valves: flap open and closed, even with large flow rates
A major advantage of butterfly valves is their compact design and low weight, even with large nominal diameters over DN100. This is particularly important in pipeline construction.
In the butterfly valve, a disc rotates open and closed with a 90° rotary movement. Depending on the design of the butterfly valve, operating pressures of up to 25 bar and temperatures of up to 180°C can be shut off.
Butterfly valves are mainly used in water extraction, water distribution and in the dirty water sector. Flap valves are particularly suitable for clean to slightly contaminated, neutral and aggressive media or compressed air and gases. Applications in this area rely on the TRI-DISC COMPACT or TRI-DISC COMPACT LUG shut-off valves with various sealing materials such as EPDM, EPDM with DVGW approval, Viton and NBR.
With PFA-coated discs and disks or made of polished stainless steel, butterfly valves are supplied to companies in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries. For high chemical resistance and hygiene, they install the TRI-DISC COMPACT PTFE butterfly valve. The wetted sealing materials have FDA approval.
For the automation of entire processes or individual steps, butterfly valves are equipped with a pneumatic or electric drive. Benefit from TRI-MATIC's resistant butterfly valves.
