Tobias Lang in the TRI interview

TRI-MATIC employees talk about their experiences in short interviews. Today, we asked Tobias Lang, Junior Engineer at TRI-MATIC, seven questions. After successfully completing his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with a specialisation in product development and mechatronics, Tobias Lang joined TRI-MATIC on 1 March 2025. Get to know the TRI employees and TRI-MATIC on a more personal level!

You have been with TRI-MATIC since 1 March 2025. How have you found your first nine months at the company?

TRI-MATIC is a small SME with around 30 employees. Thanks to its wide and extensive product range, many different components in the areas of assemblies, valves, pressure measurement technology and pneumatics are assembled and shipped every day. I had the opportunity to gain an insight into all areas of work during numerous training courses. Each time, I was given a very warm welcome and introduced to the specialist area.

Describe TRI-MATIC in a few words.

TRI-MATIC is a place where you quickly feel at home thanks to the ONE team spirit.

What is your job at TRI-MATIC and what do you like about your work?

As a junior engineer, I am jointly responsible for the technical implementation of all projects together with my supervisors and the assembly team. During component assembly, individual parts are turned into complete systems for various areas of application. In addition to the assemblies, we also have our own Protect-Air® product line with pneumatic safety components and factory-preset pressure reducing valves.

From individual adjustments to standard products to completely new valve developments, I work on different challenges every day. Continuous improvement of products and production processes is also fundamental. Being involved in this area is also extremely exciting.

Do you have any tips for success for customers?

Great things can be achieved through good teamwork, where many ideas come together. In addition, a project should be divided into smaller milestones to make it easier to achieve the overall goal.

What has made you particularly happy during your first few months at TRI-MATIC?

One major project that I am particularly excited about and which is still ongoing is a valve in the vacuum sector. With a new development like this, it is important to solve problems in a structured manner and to test different approaches. This makes my work very varied and exciting.

What constitutes a successful day for you?

I am very pleased when I overcome a setback in a project or successfully solve a challenge. I am someone who enjoys developing myself further, and I can learn a lot from these tasks. Of course, my day is also successful when I notice that my work is appreciated and that I play an important role in the ONE team.

What do you like to do most in your free time?

I love meeting up with friends and family. I play the trombone in the Allenwinden brass band, where I also grew up. In summer, I enjoy riding my motorbike and in winter I accompany the EVZ to ice hockey matches.
