CEO Summer Talk: Melissa Berge from Eurotec Antriebszubehör GmbH and Davide Casiello from TRI-MATIC in conversation

Through trusting partnerships, we ensure that quality and service always take centre stage. One of our suppliers is Eurotec Antriebszubehör GmbH. Melissa Berge and Davide Casiello give an overview of the current situation in the industry, innovations and development projects in the CEO Summer Talk.

Davide, can you give us an overview of the current situation in the industry?

Some industrial companies are rethinking their supply chains and partnerships. They want to move away from global manufacturing towards more proximity and localisation in order to shorten the distance to customers and suppliers. As an owner-managed family business, we are aware of our responsibility on the national and neighbouring markets. Wherever possible, we prioritise proximity, such as with Eurotec just across Lake Constance.

Melissa, what current innovations or development projects are you currently working on?

We are currently working on several exciting development projects in many areas of the company, including new versions of our limit switch boxes with extended functions for position feedback. We are particularly focussing on modular solutions that can be flexibly adapted to different drive systems. At the same time, we are driving forward the digitalisation of our internal processes - for example by introducing various AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot - in order to make our development cycles even more efficient. We are also constantly changing our production and warehouse processes and are working on using modern systems and robot technology to achieve the best possible efficiency in order to remain an attractive and reliable partner for drive accessories in the international competitive environment and to continuously expand our capacity.

Davide, what do you think are the factors that are driving this industry forward?

A decisive factor is dealing constructively with the constantly changing regulations in Europe. They present companies with challenges, for example in the areas of expertise, processes and costs, but also offer opportunities for improvements and innovations. In industrial automation, legal requirements and technological developments are closely intertwined.

Companies that manage to anticipate regulatory requirements at an early stage and turn plans into reality can strengthen their own innovative power and secure competitive advantages. Investments in further training, digital technologies and agile organisational structures are key levers for sustainable progress in the industry. Companies that see regulations not as a disruptive factor but as a driver of innovation will actively shape the transformation of industrial automation.

Melissa, what do you contribute to the automation of entire processes or sub-processes?

Our products are designed not only to enable automation, but also to simplify it, combined with an attractive design. With our limit switch boxes and mounting kits, we offer solutions that can be seamlessly integrated into existing systems - whether in the oil & gas, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, in plant engineering or in water treatment. It is particularly important to us that our components function sustainably and provide reliable feedback signals that are essential for process control. In this way, we make a concrete contribution to increasing efficiency in industrial automation.

Davide, in which areas does Eurotec Antriebszubehör GmbH support us?

We have been working with Eurotec for around fifteen years in the field of position feedback for switchboxes in pneumatic automation. The switchboxes are available in many space-saving versions for up to 4 switches and in different materials for direct mounting on pneumatic drives, with or without SIL and EX certification. The various adaptation kits and mounting kits help us to set up the units easily and quickly for the various automation tasks. The acquisition and further processing of feedback signals from switch boxes are essential for smooth operation in industrial automation.

What motivates you to get up in the morning?

Melissa: What motivates me is that we create real added value with our work - for our customers, for our employees and for the region. In everyday life, our products often remain invisible, and many of our friends don't have a clear idea of what we actually do here. But without the valve industry and automation technology, our world would look completely different. I find the variety of application areas very exciting and it really never gets boring. I see it as a privilege to help shape a company that combines innovation and reliability. And I look forward to the dialogue with my team every day - to new ideas, challenges and joint successes. We never stand still and there are so many new things to learn and achieve every day.

Davide: Achieving our goals requires motivated, qualified and satisfied employees. Sustainable success is only possible together. Our success is based on togetherness in our team and the conviction that innovation and quality arise from the strength of our community.

What is important to you about our partnership?

Melissa: Reliability, openness, mutual respect and good, friendly interaction - for me, these are the cornerstones of a strong partnership. We not only have a long-standing working relationship with TRI-MATIC, but also a shared understanding of quality and customer focus. I particularly appreciate the fact that we tackle challenges together and always keep the big picture in mind. It's also always nice when a collaboration harmonises well not only on a business level, but also on a human level, and that has been simply wonderful with TRI-MATIC since the beginning of our collaboration.

Davide: A successful supplier relationship is based on values such as trust, reliability, open communication and mutual respect. It is crucial for a smooth process that suppliers keep their promises and fulfil or exceed requirements. We work with suppliers who share our values. Like with Eurotec. Our focus is on proactively driving challenges forward together and creating added value for our customers. And that works really well with Eurotec.

Melissa, what do you understand by corporate culture and how do you develop it further?

For me, corporate culture means that we create an environment in which people can contribute, develop and feel comfortable. This starts with clear communication and mutual trust - and extends to the active promotion of personal responsibility and further training. We are a cross-departmental team. Day-to-day work is so much easier when we get on well with each other. I emphasise this to our employees time and time again. I believe that culture cannot be imposed, but must be lived - every day, by everyone.

We share a common understanding of quality and customer-orientation with TRI-MATIC in order to make a concrete contribution to increasing efficiency in industrial automation.
